Summary

In January 1957, multiple sightings of unidentified aerial phenomena were reported in Holtville, California. Two civilian witnesses observed two round yellow objects that appeared stationary in the sky for several minutes. Using binoculars, they noted the objects gradually fading out. Although initially considered as possible balloons, investigators concluded it was likely a high-flying aircraft. The description and behavior of the objects generated some confusion, but no photographs or radar data were taken to confirm the identity.

A day later, seven similar objects were reported, this time flashing red and yellow. As they moved southeast, one object broke away from the group. Observers noted the objects seemed to fade out after an hour. Despite several airports in the area being mentioned, the objects did not display movement consistent with an aircraft. Investigators concluded they were likely aircraft lights, although their unusual behavior raised doubts.
