🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1957, a witness in Liberty, Pennsylvania observed a white round object for 3 to 5 minutes. The object, described as the size of a basketball at arm's length, left behind white trails that appeared and disappeared as it moved in a southeasterly direction. Although initially thought to be a balloon, the final conclusion pointed to a high-flying B-52 aircraft. The object appeared to roll as it moved away, adding mystery to the sighting.
The report does not include photographs, but the witness described it clearly. The lack of additional data and the inability to confirm with images make the story intriguing. Despite ruling out an astronomical phenomenon, the official explanation pointed to an aircraft, although no related report was found. This case is another example of how UFO sightings generated interest and debate in the 1950s.
