🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1957, an electrical engineer in New Orleans spotted two greenish glowing objects moving vertically and in parallel. The witness described the objects as circular, flat, and bright, with a light aura around them. He observed them for three seconds before they disappeared over the horizon. Although no photos or physical evidence were collected, the report suggests the sighting was likely caused by meteors due to the duration, trajectory, and manner of disappearance.
The official evaluation concluded it was probably an astronomical phenomenon, but the engineer's testimony was considered coherent and detailed. He calculated a speed of 8,512 miles per hour, assuming an altitude of 20,000 feet. Despite no additional data to confirm, the case was archived without further investigation. The report also includes weather data and visibility conditions that do not contradict the meteor theory, but leave room for other explanations.
