🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1957, multiple flashing red lights were observed by personnel at the Lincoln AFB control tower in Nebraska. Witnesses, including radar operators and air traffic controllers, described objects appearing and disappearing in the sky with erratic movements and varying speeds. Some objects separated and took opposite directions. Although balloon and commercial aircraft possibilities were considered, the final evaluation suggested they were likely aircraft, though balloons were also mentioned as a possible explanation. The investigation included checks with weather services and airlines, but no conclusive explanation was found. Witnesses agreed the objects were bright, similar to car headlights at a considerable distance.
