Summary

In February 1957, at Tierra Amarilla Air Force Station in New Mexico, a UFO case was recorded that attracted attention due to its duration and the characteristics of the observed objects. Two objects, the size of a pea, with red, yellow, and green blinking lights, were seen by an air controller. One remained anchored, while the other orbited around it. An interceptor was alerted and escorted one of the objects for 25 nautical miles before it broke off. Despite the pursuit, there was no visual or radar contact. The air base submitted detailed reports, but the lack of conclusive data led to the case being classified as "possible balloon".

The official investigation did not assign a definitive cause, and the files indicate that no on-site interview was conducted, as the forms already contained all available information. This case, like many others from that era, reflects the uncertainty and the need for more data to understand what was observed. Although conventional explanations such as aircraft or astronomical phenomena were dismissed, the final report did not reach a clear conclusion, leaving open the possibility that it was a balloon or an unidentified phenomenon.
