Summary

In February 1957, a witness in Tuxedo, New York, observed a large, star-shaped object moving up and down and from side to side. The object was described as bright and star-like, which led to some confusion. The witness, a couple watching television, went outside to investigate and noted the object had a bright white center surrounded by a pinkish aura. Although no photos were taken and no sound was heard, the report concluded the characteristics were consistent with a balloon. Additionally, the wind direction and the object's movement matched, supporting this theory. The report, however, noted that data was limited.

The object remained visible for about 13 to 14 minutes, and while other small lights emerged and quickly vanished, no further details were recorded. The lack of physical or photographic evidence made a precise evaluation difficult. Despite these limitations, investigators concluded it was likely a balloon, an explanation that fit the observed behavior and weather conditions at the time.
