🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1957, an observer at Point Mugu, California, recorded an object with 16 sides that briefly appeared on film. The object, the size of a silver dollar, was white in color and captured by a high-speed camera. The report indicates that the object was visible for only half a second before disappearing from the film. Despite the area being full of aerial activity, including missiles and aircraft, the object could not be identified.
The film in question belonged to the Navy and was unavailable for analysis due to its classified content. Investigators concluded that there was insufficient data to evaluate the nature of the object. This lack of access to the film prevented any further analysis, leaving the sighting unresolved. The case was filed as insufficient for a conclusive evaluation, reflecting the difficulty researchers at the time had in obtaining clear answers about unidentified aerial phenomena.
