Summary

In April 1957, a civilian from Ruston, Louisiana, reported seeing a red crescent-shaped object descending from the sky during a storm. The witness, driving toward Ringgold, described the object as large as a four or five-room house. Despite the heavy rain, the object glowed intensely and landed in a grove of trees. The official report classified it as a probable weather balloon, but no concrete evidence was found. Local and military investigators examined the area without success.

The civilian's testimony was detailed and consistent, including the exact time of the sighting and precise location. Although conventional explanations like a balloon or weather phenomenon were considered, none were confirmed. The official investigation found no traces of the object or additional witnesses. The case remains unsolved, added to the list of UFO sightings that defy conventional explanations.
