🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1957, a U.S. Air Force pilot reported a mysterious object while flying near Hunter AFB in Georgia. The object, described as a pencil-shaped form five inches long, glowed with a star-like color and left a light trail at a 20-degree angle. It was observed for 18 minutes as it moved northwest at high speed, even hovering briefly with its light trail visible. Investigators concluded it was likely the Orend Leland comet, an astronomical body known at that time. Despite this explanation, the object's description and behavior generated some curiosity.
The report, part of Project 10073, includes details on the aerial observation, weather conditions, and the exact location of the sighting. Although other possibilities like balloons or aircraft were ruled out, no photographs or additional data were taken. The pilot, Captain Wassil, was experienced, and his testimony was considered reliable. However, the lack of physical evidence or confirmatory images left open the possibility that the object was not ordinary. This case reflects the complexity of UFO sightings and the need for careful evaluation based on concrete data.
