Summary

In May 1957, a witness in Canton, Ohio, spotted a mysterious object with an elliptical shape. The object was approximately 12 by 8 inches in size and had a very shiny silver color. It was observed for 10 minutes without making any sound and was orbiting at a distance of about 5 to 8 miles. Although several explanations were considered, investigators concluded it was likely an aircraft. The location near small airfields supported this theory. However, the lack of sound and its orbital movement created some uncertainty.

The report, under Project 10073, was reviewed by intelligence officers, but no definitive conclusions were drawn. The weather conditions were clear and excellent, increasing the credibility of the sighting. Despite no photos or radar confirmation, the report was filed as "probably an aircraft." This case remains an example of how civilian observers contributed valuable information during the UFO study era.
