🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An electric line worker in Kings Park, Long Island, observed a cigar-shaped object the size of a coin, with no wings or exhaust trail, moving slowly from north to south. The witness and a colleague watched it for 1½ minutes, noting that in the final seconds it became round and vanished as if suddenly ascending. Although a weather balloon was considered, weather data and the sun's position created contradictions. The official report classified it as "inconsistent information," leaving the mystery unresolved.
The observer, Edmond McCabe, had military aviation experience and noted the speed was too low for an aircraft. Nearby airbase activity and a possible balloon launch failed to fully explain the phenomenon. The object's trajectory and sun position seemed contradictory, adding to the enigma. Despite investigations, no conventional explanation was found.
