🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1957, a civilian in Canton, Ohio, observed a round bluish-green object the size of a pea at arm's length. The object was moving rapidly northward at an altitude of about 4000 feet and was visible for three to five seconds. A faint sound was noted, but no photographs or radar were used. Investigators concluded it was a meteor, a common astronomical event. The witness's description matched typical meteor characteristics, suggesting the phenomenon was unrelated to unidentified flying objects. This brief case is part of many reports that help understand how sightings were classified in the 1950s.
