🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1957, a civilian called the ATIC Command Post to report a round object slowly climbing northward. The initial report lacked photos or radar data but noted the observer's sighting of something unusual. The key to the case came when a local weather station confirmed a balloon had been launched five minutes before the sighting. This finding allowed investigators to conclude the object was not a UFO, but a regular balloon. Coordination between the witness and authorities helped solve the mystery without further investigation.
