🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1957, a theater owner and a newspaperman reported sightings of unidentified objects near the crater of Afton Volcano, close to the Mexican border. According to their account, the objects appeared in formations, made distinct turns, and hovered over the volcano for hours. However, the weather conditions that night included scattered clouds and storms, making clear observation difficult at such a distance.
The official investigation concluded that the witnesses were unreliable and there was insufficient evidence to classify the objects as aerial or astronomical phenomena. Additionally, the media's growing interest in UFOs at the time might have influenced their testimonies. Despite multiple leads and a specific geographical location, the case was closed without resolution, highlighting the challenge of distinguishing real phenomena from biased perceptions.
