🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1957, a witness in Schenectady, New York, observed an oval object the size of a dime, glowing white with brown smoke trailing behind it. The phenomenon lasted only three seconds and moved in a straight line from east to west, below the clouds. Although initially considered the possibility of an aircraft or balloon, investigators concluded it was an astronomical meteor. The sighting came from a civilian observer and no photographs were available to support the observation.
The report includes meteorological data and wind directions at different altitudes, helping to understand the context of the sighting. The location near General Electric nuclear laboratories adds an interesting touch, although no direct connections to the observation were found. Despite the brevity of the event, the testimony was carefully recorded and considered sufficient to classify it as a meteor, closing the investigation without further conclusions.
