🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1957, a citizen of Baltimore, Maryland, reported a sighting of an unidentified flying object. The report, part of Project 10073, indicates that the observation was visual and lasted several minutes. Although the witness did not use radar or photography, their testimony was recorded accurately. The report includes an assessment of possible explanations, such as weather balloons, conventional aircraft, or astronomical phenomena, but none were confirmed with certainty. The lack of additional data left the case unresolved.
The official evaluation suggested the object could be a balloon, an aircraft, or an astronomical phenomenon, but none of these options were conclusive. The case was filed as "insufficient data for a conclusive evaluation," reflecting the common ambiguity in many reports from that era. Despite the limitations, the witness's testimony was taken seriously, and the report shows the care with which UFO sightings were handled during the Cold War.
