Summary

In July 1957, a witness in Stamford, Connecticut observed an unusual aerial phenomenon displaying intermittent red, green, blue, and white colors. The object appeared a mile high above the water near the New York coast and moved with precision toward the shoreline. Its round shape with oval edges and intense light caught the witness's attention, who described a precise sequence of color changes without interruptions. The object disappeared as it approached the shore, but five minutes later, it reappeared with another similar phenomenon at its side. Both moved in sync, showing identical colors and lights, until one split into four bright jagged pieces that eventually faded. The witness, impressed by the precision and behavior of the phenomenon, documented the experience in detail.

The official report of the case, part of project 10073, considered several explanations such as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena, but none fully matched the witness's description. The lack of photographic evidence and the precise nature of the color and movement changes made a definitive evaluation difficult. Despite multiple hypotheses, the case remains unresolved, preserving the essence of the inexplicable that characterizes many UFO reports from that era. The witness's clear and detailed account adds a touch of realism to an experience that, although unconfirmed, remains intriguing for UFO researchers.
