Summary

In August 1957, a family in Arlington, Virginia, observed a luminous object in the sky traveling at high speed. The object, described as a bright disk with orange edges, was seen for approximately 90 seconds. Although initially thought to be a balloon, further investigations suggested it was more likely a jet aircraft with an afterburner.
