🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1957, a family in Arlington, Virginia, observed a luminous object in the sky traveling at high speed. The object, described as a bright disk with orange edges, was seen for approximately 90 seconds. Although initially thought to be a balloon, further investigations suggested it was more likely a jet aircraft with an afterburner. Witnesses stated the object did not emit smoke, did not change shape, and showed no signs of being an astronomical phenomenon. Confusion grew when weather reports and airbase data failed to explain the sighting. Ultimately, investigators concluded that, given the conditions and descriptions, the object was most likely a jet aircraft with visible lights.
