🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1957, a man in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania, observed a bright silver-blue object high in the sky moving southwest. The witness, who claimed to have radar experience during the war, was convinced he had seen a flying saucer. Although the sighting was reported, both Reading and Allentown failed to obtain the observer's personal details, making it difficult to verify the information. The case was ultimately deemed insufficient for evaluation. This document highlights how even in the 1950s, UFO reports often lacked critical data, complicating their analysis.
The official report noted that the observer saw an object that did not appear to be a balloon, an aircraft, or an astronomical phenomenon. However, the lack of additional details, such as photos or confirmed testimonies, left the case unresolved. This case is a typical example of how UFO reports were handled at the time, with a mix of interest and skepticism from military authorities.
