🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1957, an observer in Atlanta, Georgia, spotted a luminous object resembling a first or second magnitude star. The object was seen for about 15 seconds and moved east-southeast. Although balloon and aircraft possibilities were considered, the analysis leaned toward an astronomical explanation. The report includes weather conditions and the exact location of the sighting.
The object's description and straight trajectory suggest it could be a meteor. However, the duration of the sighting was considered questionable, possibly overestimated. The report concludes there is not enough evidence to determine the object's nature with certainty, but clearly points toward a natural explanation.
