🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1957, a witness in New Haven, Connecticut, described a gray cigar-shaped object the size of a jet. The sighting included a roaring sound, which caused some concern. Although no photos were taken, the report classified the observation as likely caused by an aircraft. The description of the object, without wings or a tail, raised some doubts, but military analysts concluded it was a conventional plane.
The case was recorded under Project 10073, a program from that era collecting reports of unidentified sightings. Despite the ambiguity of the data, military researchers ruled out other explanations such as balloons or astronomical phenomena. The report, though brief, reflects the concern of the time about sky objects that could not be easily identified.
