Summary

In August 1957, an observer in Myrtle Creek, Oregon, saw a black object with a ball of fire at each end. The object was moving southeast, and the sound of an aircraft was heard. Although an aircraft was tracked, it was heading northeast, opposite the object. The pilot reported seeing nothing. With two witnesses and an unusual description, the case was classified as insufficient data.

The object's dark appearance and fireballs generated confusion. The lack of alignment between the aircraft's direction and the object, along with the inability to identify it as a balloon, aircraft, or astronomical phenomenon, kept the mystery alive. Although no photos were taken, the sighting was detailed and officially recorded as insufficient for a conclusive evaluation.
