Summary

In August 1957, a 16-year-old civilian in Beverly, Massachusetts, reported seeing a large oval-shaped object with white, red, and green lights. The object appeared suddenly in the night sky and vanished after a few minutes. Although there was an aircraft in the area at 16,000 feet, no radar tracks or additional sightings were recorded. The official report concluded that there was insufficient data to determine whether it was a balloon, aircraft, astronomical event, or something else.
