🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1957, at Cambria Air Force Station in California, two round, red and orange objects the size of a pea were observed. Operators of radar equipment reported that the objects appeared on the radar screen and then disappeared without a trace. The sighting lasted approximately one and a half hours. Investigators considered the possibility that the objects were the planet Venus, though they also mentioned the possibility of anomalous radar propagation.
The report includes analysis from the involved officers, who could not determine the nature of the objects with certainty. It was noted that fighter jets attempting to intercept the objects failed to make radar contact, raising doubts about the reliability of the equipment. Although observers thought the objects might be stars, the sudden disappearance of the IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) signals suggested something unusual was happening. The case was submitted for further analysis.
