🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An object with a pulsating red light was visually observed and detected by radar near Dry Tortugas, Florida, on August 27, 1957. Pilots reported an object moving at an estimated speed of 950 knots at around 20,000 feet altitude. The red and reddish-yellow light blinked, and the interception attempt failed due to the object's high speed. The sighting lasted two minutes. Although several explanations such as balloons, aircraft, or Venus were considered, investigators concluded it could have been a combination of random astronomical and radar signals. No physical evidence of the phenomenon was found.
