🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1957, an unusual sighting occurred in Annadale-on-Hudson, New York. A witness described a large heart-shaped object, burnished copper in color with a light underneath, visible for an hour at around 35-40 degrees above the northern horizon. Although it might initially seem otherworldly, investigators considered it could be a weather balloon with attached lights, common at the time. The most plausible explanation points to a balloon released at a nearby airport just before the sighting. Weather conditions and wind patterns at altitude also supported this theory. Despite the mysterious description, the data suggests a terrestrial explanation.
