🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A red, round object was spotted near Sanderson, Texas, in September 1957. The witness described it as a "big ball" and observed it for about five minutes from a car. Although no photos were taken, binoculars were used.
The official evaluation pointed to a weather balloon as the explanation. Weather records show one was launched at 5:30 p. m. in Big Spring, close to the sighting time and location. Wind data and direction also match the report. No radar contacts or other objects were recorded, supporting the balloon theory.
