🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1957, an observer at Kelly Air Force Base in Texas reported a round, bright object resembling a quarter. This object, which varied in brightness, moved southwest before disappearing. Although other explanations such as balloons or aircraft were initially considered, the data matched the position of Venus at that time and place. The official report concluded there was insufficient evidence to determine its nature, but clearly pointed to Venus as the most plausible explanation.
The report, part of Project 10073, includes detailed observations and an evaluation that did not reach a definitive conclusion. However, the astronomical data matched Venus's location, suggesting the object seen was simply the planet. This case reflects how unidentified object reports often align with natural or astronomical phenomena, and how the lack of physical evidence can lead to inconclusive outcomes.
