Summary

In September 1957, witnesses in Brookville, Ohio, and Spencer, Wisconsin, reported sightings of luminous objects in the night sky. One described a red, white, and orange light, while another noted a red and green object the size of a planet. These sightings, which occurred at different times and lasted between 8 and 21 minutes, were initially puzzling. However, investigators concluded that they were the aurora borealis, a natural phenomenon caused by solar particles interacting with Earth's magnetic field. The description of flickering lights and color changes, along with the lack of movement, supports this interpretation. Although UFO reports were common at the time, this case was resolved scientifically, without the need for unconventional explanations.
