🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1957, a government employee took a photograph in Alamogordo, New Mexico, presented as a UFO. The image, released in 1958 by APRO, showed a saucer-like object estimated at 4000 feet in diameter. Despite claims of it being an unidentified flying object, Air Force analyses concluded it was a lenticular cloud. The photo sparked controversy, especially due to its link with psychiatrist Carl Jung, who stated UFOs were not mere rumors. However, multiple independent reviews confirmed the object was a natural formation. The case highlights the tension between public curiosity and the need for scientific objectivity.
