Summary

In October 1957, an American observer in Tehran described a high-altitude vapor trail moving east to west. The object itself was not visible, and no noise was heard, which caused some confusion. The trail, estimated above 60,000 feet, showed an unusual motion, as if formed by a rolling movement. Although the possibility of an aircraft was considered, the lack of concrete details left the nature of the phenomenon uncertain.

The report, initially classified and later declassified, was shared with several allied air forces. Despite the brief observation, the mention of a "vapor trail" pointed to the possibility of an aircraft, although it could not be confirmed with certainty. This case, like many others, reflects the uncertainty surrounding aerial sightings during the Cold War era.
