Summary

In October 1957, a witness in Piedmont, Missouri, observed a bright light that changed color between red and white. The object was moving very high and at great speed, and was seen for 45 minutes. Despite the considerable duration of the observation, key information was missing to identify its nature. No photos were taken and radar was not used, and the witness could not specify the size, shape or how the object disappeared. The official report concluded that there was not enough data for an evaluation.

The lack of precise details generated frustration among investigators. An Air Force officer noted that it was not possible to make an evaluation with the limited information provided. The case was classified as "insufficient for evaluation," reflecting the difficulty of distinguishing between a natural phenomenon, a balloon, an aircraft or something else. Although the testimony was visual, no further data was obtained, and the report remained unresolved.
