🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, 20 U.S. soldiers in Korea observed a luminous phenomenon with a 30-minute-long vapor trail. The report classified the sighting as an astronomical meteor, though witnesses noted unusual details. The object produced a blue-white flash that evolved into an orange-red trail, resembling a rocket, and remained visible for an extended period. Although analysts considered other possibilities like balloons or aircraft, they concluded it was a meteor. However, the duration and specific description of the trail raised doubts, leading to multiple technical evaluations.
Military authorities reviewed testimonies and data, including compass readings and observations from various soldiers. Although the object was not identified with certainty, options like flares or aircraft were ruled out. The most plausible explanation was a meteor, but the nature of the phenomenon remains intriguing due to its duration and unusual characteristics.
