🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A 19-year-old captured an image of a UFO near Anaheim, California, in November 1957, while driving near Disneyland. The object, described as a blurry cigar-shaped entity with a pinkish-red glow, appeared at 12:10 AM and remained stationary for about 40 seconds. Although the witness claimed it was an unexplained phenomenon, the subsequent investigation suggested it could be a trick photograph. Investigators noted the witness used a Graflex Century camera with unusual settings, and the object in the photo resembled a conventional light source. Additionally, no other sightings or records of activity were reported in the area at that time.
The Air Force concluded the case was likely a hoax, as no evidence of a real object was found. The witness, who seemed to enjoy the media attention, could not adequately explain how he obtained the image. The photo was analyzed by experts, and the negative was found to be very dense, making a clear interpretation difficult. Despite doubts, the image was published in several newspapers, generating brief public interest in the case.
