🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, multiple witnesses in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama reported a luminous object in the sky. It was described as a football-shaped object, very high and fast, with red lights, a golden line, and a blue tube. Although observers initially thought it was a meteorite, its speed and trajectory raised doubts. The object was seen from the ground and from the air, and several witnesses agreed it was the same phenomenon. Despite variations in descriptions, the data pointed to a celestial body burning up as it entered the atmosphere. The observation duration ranged from 10 seconds to 5 minutes, suggesting the object disintegrated quickly.
The nature of the phenomenon was analyzed by military officers and astronomers, who considered the possibility of a meteorite or a luminous meteor. Meteorological data and witness coordinates indicated the object moved in a straight line, at great altitude, and at an angle of 15 to 45 degrees. Although there were no images or radar confirmation, the coincidence of multiple testimonies in different locations supports the theory of an astronomical event. However, the lack of precise data and variability in descriptions left open the possibility of an unidentified phenomenon.
