🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Selma, North Carolina, reported a disc-shaped, grayish object moving very low in a southeast direction. The sighting occurred on November 8, 1957, and lasted approximately two minutes. Although a balloon was considered as a possible explanation, the lack of data such as elevation, exact direction, size, and wind conditions made it impossible to evaluate the sighting conclusively. The official report concluded that there was insufficient information to determine the nature of the object.
Visibility was excellent, but no weather or wind data was recorded, further complicating the analysis. The report was filed without a clear conclusion, and the case remains in the category of "insufficient data for evaluation." Cases like this, though incomplete, are valuable for understanding how sightings were handled in the 1950s.
