🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, a witness in Oak Tree, New Jersey, reported a bright object in the sky while driving. The object, described as bright and cigar-shaped, was moving westward and upward at an angle of about 10 degrees. It left no visible trail and remained steady until it disappeared. The witness, intrigued by the phenomenon, stopped to observe it carefully. Although no photos or radar data were taken, the testimony was sent to Mitchel Air Base for evaluation.
The official assessment concluded that there was insufficient information to determine the nature of the object. Explanations such as balloons, aircraft or astronomical phenomena were ruled out. Despite the lack of conclusive evidence, the report reflects the official concern for any unidentified aerial activity. This document, classified and sealed for decades, offers a glimpse into the official approach to UFO cases in the 1950s.
