🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, a witness in St. Albans, West Virginia, observed a luminous object moving straight toward the ground. It was described as a fireball with a tail, appearing orange and then blue. Although the observer thought the object hit the ground, investigators concluded it was a meteor. No photos or additional data were available to confirm other theories, but balloon or aircraft explanations were ruled out.
A second sighting occurred just a few days earlier, when a bright object moved southwest and disappeared behind a hill. Again, investigators concluded it was a meteor. Despite the lack of images or further details, both sightings were classified as astronomical phenomena. These cases reflect how UFO reports are often explained by natural events, especially when conclusive evidence is lacking.
