Summary

In November 1937, at Turner AFB in Georgia, two observers reported a luminous object moving at high speed. They described a greenish-yellow sphere, ranging from the size of a dime to a volleyball, with an orange, fiery tail. Although multiple witnesses agreed on the trajectory and speed, the object abruptly disappeared before reaching the horizon. The event lasted only two seconds, and there were no photographs or radar data. The observers, considered very reliable, included control tower operators and air police personnel.

The color description and descending trajectory, along with the event's duration, led analysts to conclude it was a bolide or fireball. The lack of sky illumination and the description of a fiery tail are consistent with this astronomical phenomenon. Despite multiple sightings and reports from other locations in the region, there was no evidence of military or civilian air traffic, reinforcing the hypothesis of a meteor.
