🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, a witness in Manchester, New Hampshire, observed a round object the size of a grapefruit with red and white lights. While watching it, the electricity in his house went out. The object followed an irregular path before fading away. Although balloon and astronomical explanations were considered, the report concluded it was likely an aircraft. However, the lack of precise data such as directions, elevations, or azimuths made a deeper analysis difficult. The case was filed due to insufficient information, but it drew attention for its coincidence with other sightings in the area.
The official report mentions the witness used 60-power binoculars, though no exact coordinates or bearings were recorded. The weather was clear with good visibility, supporting the observation's credibility. Despite other similar sightings being registered, the phenomenon had no clear explanation. The case was considered an example of mass suggestion, possibly influenced by publicity around other sightings.
