Summary

In November 1957, a witness in Levelland, Texas, described an object resembling two stacked basketballs separated by a horizontal bar. The object had two antenna-like protrusions on the bottom, with the left one longer than the right, and displayed red on top and blue-white on the bottom. It moved erratically, stopping and resuming motion. The observation lasted 30 minutes, indicating sustained attention to the phenomenon.

Researchers under Project 10073 concluded the object was likely astronomical, specifically Venus, which was exceptionally bright at the time. The report also noted that the sighting location matched that of another widely publicized UFO case a few days earlier. This raised suspicions of mass suggestion due to prior media coverage. Although there were conflicting reports, the possibility of the object being a balloon or aircraft was not ruled out, but the most plausible explanation pointed to Venus.
