🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, a witness in Long Beach, California, observed a round, shiny object the size of a basketball. The object was seen moving southwest for about 13 minutes. Weather conditions were poor, with high overcast, haze, and smoke, making accurate observation difficult. Despite several officers searching for the object, only a lone star was visible.
The official conclusion suggested the sighting was caused by a balloon. A duty officer confirmed a balloon was tracked in the same position as the UFO. This indicates that atmospheric conditions and the witness's perspective contributed to the unusual appearance of the object. Although no photos were taken, the detailed report includes descriptions of the object's size, color, and movement, as well as the challenges in identifying it accurately.
