🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A 1957 report describes how a military technician observed two or three red lights over Amarillo, Texas. The object was seen for two to three minutes and moving east. Although no photos were taken, the observer noted a bright light on the bottom resembling a searchlight or floodlight. The weather was overcast, complicating identification. The report suggests it could be an aircraft, but also mentions a balloon launched days earlier.
The official report did not reach a clear conclusion, noting many similar sightings in the area. The responsible officer mentioned that publicity about UFOs had sensitized many people, possibly explaining some observations. Despite weather conditions and air traffic analysis, the object remained unidentified. The case remains unsolved, like many from that era.
