🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, a civilian in Kennesaw, Georgia, reported seeing a mysterious object falling from the sky. The witness described a round object the size of a baseball with a yellow or orange tail. The object had a green core that gradually turned red around the edges. Although the sighting lasted only a few seconds, the description was detailed enough to draw attention. Investigators concluded it was likely a meteor, possibly part of the Leonid meteor shower, which is common during this time of year.
The detailed description, along with the object's straight downward trajectory, led analysts to associate it with an astronomical event. There were no photographs or radar data involved, but the civilian testimony was enough to classify the case. Despite the brief nature of the sighting, the data matched typical meteor characteristics. The official report closed the case without further investigation, resolving one of many UFO mysteries.
