🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, a woman in Oneida, New York, reported seeing an object the size of a dinner plate moving rapidly up and down, from left to right and vice versa. The object vanished in a white flash as she approached. Although the initial report did not identify the object, investigators suggested it could be a weather balloon. The lack of precise data and the brief nature of the sighting made further evaluation difficult.
The case was referred to military and civilian authorities, but no further investigation was conducted beyond initial considerations. Despite the witness's clear description, there were no photographs or follow-up. The official document classified it as "insufficient for evaluation," but the timing and location coincided with a balloon launch, suggesting a plausible explanation.
