🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, at Johnson Air Base in Japan, two military observers reported a cigar-shaped object that rapidly ascended. The object, described as cylindrical with tapered ends, was compared to a 9-inch pencil and had a pale yellow or white color. Initially thought to be a cloud, its unusual behavior and clear trajectory made it a puzzling case. The object hovered for a few minutes before climbing and disappearing within seconds, leaving a thin, faint tail.
The observers, stationed at the base's entrance, gave consistent descriptions. Although the official report suggested it could be a balloon or cloud formation, the detailed account and witnesses' reactions add intrigue. The lack of photos and the brief sighting prevent a definitive evaluation, but the case remains a classic example of UFO reports from that era.
