🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, an observer in Galveston, Texas, described a very large silver object moving rapidly from south to north. The object made no sound and appeared to have a metallic structure. Although initially considered a weather balloon, the report suggests it could have been an unidentified aircraft. The sighting lasted three minutes and occurred at high altitude.
The report includes handwritten notes mentioning the release of a weather balloon at the same time as the sighting. However, the report concludes the object was an aircraft, though not clearly identified. The lack of physical evidence and the coincidence with the balloon launch created some confusion in evaluating the case.
