In November 1957, a young witness in Beverly, Massachusetts, observed two white lights that appeared and disappeared for fifteen minutes. The lights moved back and forth, causing some confusion about their nature. The report notes that the observer used binoculars and that the lights were aligned side by side, each about a foot in diameter. Despite the extended observation time, no photographs or additional data were recorded.
The official conclusion suggested that the lights were likely Boston's airfield beacon, either directly or reflected in the clouds. The report also mentions that the witness, a student, might have been influenced by his active imagination. This case, though inconclusive, is part of a series of reports showing how unidentified flying objects were analyzed at the time.
