🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, a witness in Newburgh, New York, observed two aerial objects that appeared like baseballs, measuring between 1 and 3 feet in length. They were white and silver and flying one behind the other. The sighting lasted between 10 and 12 seconds, and several aircraft were in the area at the time. Although the possibility of combat jets was considered, no photos or radar data were taken, limiting the evaluation capacity. The report's tone suggests a pragmatic approach, not ruling out conventional explanations.
The sighting location was north of Stewart AFB, and the report includes detailed weather conditions, such as wind at different altitudes. Despite the lack of conclusive data, military officers concluded it was likely a pair of base aircraft. This case reflects the routine analysis of UFO reports during the Cold War, where each report was carefully evaluated, but with a tendency toward earthly explanations.
