🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, a civilian in Milroy, Indiana, reported seeing a bright object resembling a large ball of fire. The witness described it as traveling at high speed, trailing sparks, and disintegrating after a few seconds. Although initially intriguing, the official report concluded it was likely a meteor or fireball. The sighting included detailed observations on size and trajectory, prompting interest from air intelligence at the time.
The official record marked it as "Possibly Astronomical," indicating a natural phenomenon was considered plausible. Despite the brief observation, the witness insisted the object was much larger than a typical falling star and moving parallel to the ground. This account, along with secondary testimonies from a child and a teenager, added credibility to the report, though no photographs or radar data were used to confirm the sighting.
